Content: Examples of Nigerian export produce

The following are the agricultural produce of importance which are exported from Nigeria to other countries.

The Nigerian export produce includes:

(i) Cocoa: Nigeria is the world’s largest producer of cocoa and exports it to European countries

(ii) Palm produce e.g. palm kernel, and palm oil. They are exported to European countries and other West African countries.

iii. Hides and skins: they are exported to European and Asian countries

  1. Cassava crop: Nigeria is the world’s largest producer of cassava but much of it is locally consumed.
  2. Groundnut: It is exported to European countries where it is converted to peanut butter.
  3. Pepper: It is an important spice which is traded on international markets, especially in West Africa and European nations.

  1. Coffee.
  2. Cashew
  3. Soya beans

  5. It encourages the economic development of the nation.
  6. It creates employment/job opportunities.
