Generally, the candidates exhibited poor knowledge of the selected texts; consequently, they could not adequately back up their writings with quotations from the texts.

- Candidates should endeavour to buy the prescribed texts and study them properly.
- Candidates should be encouraged to develop a good reading culture by both parents and teachers.
- Candidates should be discouraged from relying on abridged texts or keynotes in preparation for the examination.
- Candidates should endeavour to understand the demands of questions before answering them.
Candidates’ Strength
Few candidates were able to meet the demands of the questions using good command of English Language with reference to the texts. Such candidates scored very good marks.
