SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS.
Postgraduate Diploma Programme
- For Postgraduate Diploma, Candidates must possess Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree with at least 3rd class in relevant disciplines or Higher National Diploma Certificate (HND) in relevant disciplines with at least lower credit pass.
- Candidate with MB, BS and DVM may be considered for Postgraduate Diploma in Biochemistry.
M.Tech/M.Sc Programme
- Candidates must possess Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) degree with at least Second Class Honours in relevant discipline. Also candidates with Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm).
- Holders of PGD in relevant disciplines must have a minimum score of 60% for M.Tech/M.Sc Programme.
M.Phil and Ph.D programmes
- candidates must have a minimum score of 50% and 60% respectively in the Master Degree.
- Applicants for Ph.D may be required to commence with M.Phil/Ph.D where appropriate.
Aside from the SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS, the faculties in the postgraduate school have the following additional requirements. Candidates must also possess the qualifications specified below:
FACULTY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES.
Basic Requirement:
All candidates seeking admission into programs in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences must possess five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
FACULTY OF BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES.
Basic Requirement:
All candidates seeking admission into any program in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences must possess five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY.
Basic Requirement:
All candidates seeking admission to any program in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology must possess five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
O’Level Credit Pass in Agricultural Science is acceptable in lieu of Biology for some courses (Food Scince Engineering) as indicated
FACULTY OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES
Basic Requirement:
All candidates seeking admission to any program in the Faculty of Environmental Sciences must possess five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics/Geography, Technical Drawing & Fine Art.
In addition to general requirement, URP accepts Geography and two other subjects in either natural or social sciences.
FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES.
Basic Requirement:
All Candidates seeking admission to any program in the Faculty of Basic Management Sciences must possess five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any of Economics, Accounting, Commerce, Marketing and Insurance
FACULTY OF PURE AND APPLIED SCIENCES.
Basic Requirement.
All candidates seeking admission to any program in the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences must possess five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Duration of LAUTECH Postgraduate Programmes.
FULL-TIME
- Postgraduate Diploma – Minimum of two (2) semesters
- Master – Minimum of three (3) semesters
- Phil – Minimum of three (3) semesters
- PhD – Minimum of six (6) semesters
PART-TIME
- Postgraduate Diploma – Minimum of three (3) semesters
- Master – Minimum of six (6) semesters
- Phil – Minimum of six (6) semesters
- PhD – Minimum of eight (8) semesters
