The Importance of accurate national population census includes the following….
- Resource sharing – accurate national population census is useful for resource sharing. The population size of any area, are consider when government is allotting resources, for example, the population of the 36 states and the Federal capital territory of Nigeria varies. The population size of each state, determine the revenue allocation, the number of local government council area,and also determined the political representation of the state.
- Population control- accurate statistical record keeping of the members of a given population help in the control of population of such an area or country.
