Some of the weaknesses of the candidates include:
- Poor knowledge of set texts and literary appreciation.

- Inability to write good English.

Suggested Remedies
To ameliorate the observed weaknesses,
- Candidates should buy and read the set texts.
- Candidates should be deterred from being dependent on study aids and summary notes alone.
- Candidates should read the questions and make sure they understand what is required of them before answering the questions.
- Competent teachers should be employed to teach Literature-ln-English.
- Teachers should attend workshops and seminars occasionally to familiarize themselves with the demands of the subject.
Candidates’ Strength
Few candidates prepared adequately for the examination. This was evident in candidates’ quoting of lines and references to support their answers in the set texts.
