Having carefully examined the year’s general performance in Data processing WAEC, the followings were identified as the leading reasons why Candidates fail 2019 Data Processing WAEC Practical.
Candidates’ Weaknesses
- The Chief Examiner reported that candidates showed poor skill in generating reports using MS Access.
Other weaknesses of the candidates that were observed were:
- wrong use of application packages;
- poor practical skills.
Suggested Remedies
The following are some of the remedies suggested:
- teachers should ensure that there are sufficient practical classes before the examination.
- candidates were encouraged to practice well before the examination.
- students should always read instructions carefully before attempting questions in examinations.
Candidates’ Strength
The Chief Examiner observed that most of the candidates demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
