THE ROLES / IMPORTANCE OF NGOs IN AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT
The different NGOs involved in agricultural development perform the following roles.
- They assist in rural development by providing social amenities like roads, water supply health centers, etc
- They carry out research to improve or develop breeds of animals as well as new crop varieties.
- They provide financial support or funding for agricultural extension projects
- They help the farmers to acquire agricultural knowledge
