Sub-Topic 1: WAYS OF PROMOTING NATIONAL UNITY
- Tolerance for each other, irrespective of religious and ethnic affiliations.
- Showing hospitality especially to the strangers.
- Living a life devoid of discrimination against other tribes.
- Encouraging inter- tribal marriages; etc.
TOLERANCE: When we tolerate one another, we can live as brother and sisters and the peace of the Nation will be sustained.
HOSPITALITY: This is the act of receiving one another in a friendly atmosphere. The habit of treating one another as brother’s keeper, this will remove hatred, and peace and unity will be promoted.
NON-DISCRIMINATION: This is to relate with one another on equal basis and terms. Everyone should not think of himself more highly or superior than others.
INTER MARRIAGE: When people from different ethnic groups marry one another, we learn from one another and known our cultural differences which will bring about unity.
SUPPORT GOVERNMENT PROGRAMME: When we all support government programmes, governance will be smooth and easy. We will all be the beneficiaries of the dividends of democracy; we will see ourselves as one.
