- Seed – easy to carry, store, procure, sow etc.

Advantages of sexual propagation
- Seeds are light and can easily be transported
- Seeds are relatively cheaper.
Disadvantages of propagation by sexual propagation
- Seed may not germinate because of dormancy.
- It reduces the amount of seeds for consumption.

Advantages of asexual propagation
- There is good adaptation of crops.
- More resistance to pests and diseases.
Disadvantages of asexual/vegetative propagation.
- Planting materials cannot be stored for a long period of time without losing their viability.
- Diseases of parent stock are manifested in offspring.
- Vegetative materials are costly especially tree crops.
