Ekiti Provides Free JAMB Forms for 2,500 Indigents

Ekiti State Government on Thursday procured Joint Admission and Matriculations Board forms for 2,500 qualified indigent and vulnerable youths in the state as part of efforts to ensure they secure admission to tertiary institutions.

Fayemi, who spoke in Ado Ekiti, during the flagging-off distribution of the forms said, “The present administration in the state is committed to extending the dividends of democracy to the youths and the actualisation of its knowledge economy agenda”.

She said the government would leave no stone unturned in preparing the future leaders of Ekiti State with the requisite qualifications to enable them improve on the solid foundation that had been laid in the state.

Fayemi urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by being studious and shunning any behaviour that could jeopardise the attainment of academic greatness.

The Commissioner for Education, Dr Olabimpe Aderiye, who was represented by the Special Adviser, Basic Secondary and Vocational/Technical Education, Prof. Francisca Aladejana, said distribution of the free JAMB forms was to give hope to the youths and inspire them to aspire for greatness.

Aderiye said the free and compulsory education policy for all school age children up to the secondary school level in the state was aimed at ensuring that every school age child got the appropriate basic and post-basic education.
