Meaning of ceremonies

Ceremonies can be defined as social functions or gatherings that bring people from all over the world together.

Ceremonies are used by people to celebrate with their loved ones.

Presentation:

The teacher presents the topic as follows:

  1. The teacher reviews the previous topic with the pupils.
  2. The teacher introduces the new lesson to the pupils.
  3. The teacher explains the topic.
  4. The teacher writes the notes for the pupils.

Types of ceremonies

There are four major types of ceremonies, they are;

  1. Traditional ceremony
  2. Religious ceremony
  3. Carnivals
  4. National ceremony

Traditional ceremony

Traditional ceremonies are the ceremonies that are carried out within a particular tribe or culture. It is also known as cultural ceremonies, for example, the Yorubas cultural ceremonies are different from the Ibos

Religious ceremonies

Religious ceremonies are ceremonies that take place within various religious groups. The Christian ceremonies are different from the Muslim ceremonies.

Carnivals

Carnivals can be defined as a form of the festival that takes place in various communities to celebrate the end of the year.

National ceremonies

Nation refers to country therefore, national ceremonies refer to the various ceremonies celebrated in various countries of the world today, and Nigerian ceremonies are different from Ghana’s ceremonies. These national ceremonies are used as Remembrance Day to celebrate remarkable events that took place in the history of the country. Such as the independent day and so on and so forth.
