After series of delays, Ibrahim Babangida agreed, at last, to hold the Presidential election on June 12, 1993, the election was widely believed to have been won by Chief MKO Abiola of SDP. On June 23, the Babangida administration annulled the election, that is the Presidential Election results were fully announced by the NEC Chairman, Humphrey Nwosu.
