TOPIC: WORDS WITH SIX SYLLABLES

A syllable is the most basic unit in speech. It is a unit of sound that usually contains a vowel which may be preceded with one or more consonant sounds before or after it.  Vowels and consonant sounds are arranged into acceptable sequence to form a number of units known as syllables. A syllable or more forms a word. Therefore, syllables can be classified according to the numbers in which they occurred in words.The topic here centers on words with six syllables that are stressed on the fifth syllable. Six- syllable words are words that contain six syllables.

Examples:

1. Per-so-nal-li-ZA-tion
2. E-lec-tr-fi-CA-tion
3. Per-so-ni-fi-CA-tion
4. Ex-pe-ri-men-TA-tion
5. Na-tu-ra-li-ZA-tion
6. No-mi-na-li-SA-tion
7. Mis-in-ter- pre-TA-tion
8. Un-ci-vi-li-Za-tion

It should be noted that all the examples given above, are stressed on the fifth syllable.

EVALUATION

1. Define a syllable
2. Identify five examples of six-syllable words that are stressed on the fifth syllable.

ASSIGNMENT: With the aid of your dictionary list 20 six syllable-words stressed on the fifth syllable.
