Types of Home-made Agents
Different materials can be obtained or put together and used as home-made agents for cleaning and polishing our shoes, furniture and other things. Some of these home-made agents are:
The following are the different types of materials that we can use to produce home-made agents.
Material | Use |
1. Fine sand | This can be used as abrasive for cleaning pots. It should be used on smooth surfaces to avoid scratching. |
2. Edo’ powder | This is a yellowish substance common in the Nigerian markets: It has a fine smooth texture. It can be used for cleaning ornaments such as copper, gold, brass, etc |
3. Paw-paw leaves | Fresh pawpaw leaves can be used for cleaning dirty galvanised palls and blackened aluminium pans and pots. |
4. Finely ground Charcoal | This can be used for cleaning smooth metal surfaces. |
5. Local sand paper Leaves (asisa leaves) | These leaves have rough sandy surfaces. They can be used as abrasive for cleaning wood surface, blackened pots, etc. |
