Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic (IMP) was founded in 2001 by Engr. (Dr.) Victor E.U. Williams, a Staff of Exxon-Mobil Corporation and approved by Akwa Ibom State Government as College of Petroleum Technology. In 2014 the Institution was upgraded to a Polytechnic with a new name as Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic, Uyo and is accredited by the NBTE for the award of National Diploma Certificate.
