NATIONAL POPULATION COMMISSION OF NIGERIA (NPC)

The national population commission was established by the federal government of Nigeria with the statutory powers to collects, analyse, and disseminate population/demographic data in the country.

FUNCTIONS OF THE NPC

The functions of the National Population Commission as the agent of the federal government includes

1. To carry out periodical census and produce population figures for Nigeria
2. To undertakes periodic enumeration of population through sample survey
3. To advise the president on population matters
4. To publish and provide information (data) on population for the purpose of facilitating economic and development planning.
5. To appoint and train enumerators and other staff of the commission.
