Lion Club Promised To Rehabilitate Schools

The newly elected pioneer District Governor, 404B4, 2023/2024, Mr Samson Abodunrin, gave this assurance during a tripartite programme of the club; the birth of a new district, official presentation of pioneer district Governor and funds raising, in Lagos.
According to him, the district’s focus is to eradicate hunger and unemployment in the community, adding that empowering the less privileged, the widows and the youths would break the cycle of poverty in the country.
Abodunrin said, “We have educational materials; books, and furniture, which we are going to give to the public schools. “We will also renovate classes and upgrade some of the environment in which these schools are located. We will also grant scholarships to a few students within the limit of our resources.”
“We have taken the decision as a district to put food on the tables of 15,000 families in the first quarter of this club’s year. 9,000 pupils in public schools will be fed and 6,000 households in various communities will also be fed. It is doable.”
He noted that vocational centres which were part of its five projects would be built to train youths in various skills with a start-up grant, saying required equipment and materials which would aid their knowledge would be made available.
Speaking, the chairman of the outing, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Ado-Ekiti/Irepodun-Ifelodun, Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Abuja, Mr Olusola Fatoba, who was represented by Mr Richard Daudu, pledged his commitment towards any project aimed at the purpose of ameliorating the suffering of the less privileged and learners.
At the event, the second Vice-President, District Governor for district 404B4, Mr Adebowale Afolayan, stated that the vision of the club was to promote peace and international understanding.
