Direct Entry requirements for Applied Geophysics in OAU

Candidates may be admitted to 200 level if they have:

  • Satisfied the general UTME entry requirements for the university as specified below
  • Obtained National Diploma(with a minimum of upper credit) or equivalent in Laboratory Technology (Geology Option) and in Mining, Civil and Electrical/Electronic Engineering or any other course adjudged relevant by the Department; or
  • Good passes at GCE(Advanced Level) or its equivalent in at least two of the following subjects: Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.

UTME requirements for Applied Geophysics in OAU

The candidate must have Five credit passes in SSCE:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Chemistry
  • Physics

NOTE:

  • Biology is not of equal importance like the above-listed subjects, it can, therefore, be subsisted or even not considered.
  • Most importantly, the candidate must score high in the UTME exam with a minimum of {200, which varies annually and with general performances in the UTME}.

O’Level Subject Combinations for Applied Geophysics in OAU

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Further Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Statistics or Biology

Other subjects that can be advantageous depending on the school is agricultural science, however, the subject cannot match up with any listed subjects above. Do well to have a minimum grade (“C”) in all the subjects because anything less of that might be a challenge in being considered.
